What is the Virtual MacFair 2006?
This year we are offering a brand-new ground breaking idea never before seen at any Mac event, the Virtual MacFair. For those of you not in the Southern California area (Zip Codes, 90001 to 93999) we are offering you a chance to experience an abbreviated version of the SoCal MacFair 2006. We will be offering "virtual attendees" an opportunity to listen in live via Skype to a limited selection of SoCal MacFair seminars. In addition we will have a Vendor roundtable, we will email you all the vendor "show specials", a PDF of the show guide, have access to a special password protected message board to communicate with other Virtual MacFair attendees, have our moderator ask questions via the message board to the live speakers and a door prize raffle drawing specifically for our "virtual attendees."
Who can register for the Virtual MacFair?
It is open only to residents with an address outside Southern California. Your registration zip code must NOT be between 90001 and 93999. Remember, this is a smaller sample of the much larger SoCal MacFair and is no substitute for attending live. However, if you live in South Carolina, Sidney or Shanghai, we do understand, so we are making this option available so you can have an opportunity to experience some of the event. Keep in mind, we have had many attendees travel from as far as Japan, London, Toronto, Chicago et al to attend live.
What do I need to attend?
A computer (Mac preferred of course, but a PC we hear will work too) and a subscription to Skype. Your call to Skpye will be free since you will be calling computer to computer. If you don't have a subscription to Skype or would rather call into the Virtual MacFair from a regular telephone, we will supply you with a regular telephone number to call which are located in both the US or UK (you pay any long distance charges to reach those telephone numbers if you decide not to use Skype) For more information about Skype visit http://www.skype.com/
How do I register?
If you don't live in zip codes 90001 to 93999, you can register to virtually attend approximately 6 hours of SoCal MacFair seminars, roundtables and general Mac fun on Saturday, November 4, 2006. This will include the Keynote address, a vendor round table and a selection of other seminars that are being offered live at the SoCal MacFair. In addition, we will email you all the "show specials" offers from our vendors, send you a PDF of our show guide, have access to a special password protected message board to communicate with other Virtual MacFair attendees and you will be entered in a special Virtual MacFair door prize drawing.
